Neurofiboptic™ describes an onboard neural like network for control/monitoring of an entire structure or vehicle (aero, truck, bus, car, large airplane, space vehicle, underwater vehicle) real time and historically - any application that uses communications to control/monitor things such as aero control surfaces, speed brakes, propulsion communications, structural endurance life, autonomy.
For example, a wing can have something like biofeedback similar to a bird sensing the different flow patterns across an entire lifting surface such as a wing, for “ biological” type feedback received from a bird’s feathers and skin contact points and adjusting systems sensors antennas and integration of the various functions from structural integrity to endurance life to performance calculations for optimal performance.
The fiber optic control aspect of the Neurofiboptic TM is formed by placing the fiber optic, whether a single or multi strand regardless of the diameter, or a tape with one to nx number of channels such as 12 individual fibers in a single ribbon connected to various sensors, as well as the fiberoptic, measuring internal stresses or strains or temperature changes or other environmental aspects while being an integral part of the control of the structure itself.
You can think of the Neurofiboptic TM fiber network and optic as a body nervous system with the servos and control mechanisms being your muscles and the structure being the skeletal part and any system, whether it’s the brain or the heart or the sensory aspects like the eyes and ears that can be integrated through this type neural/sensor network. Neurofiboptic™ consists of imbedded or surface mounted fiber optics spread strategically throughout a structure and network proportional to the required and desired functions.
